How to Know if You Have an Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury

A tear in the anterior cruciate ligament can be caused by excessive or uneven force on the knees. The uneven stress on the knees can be caused by leg dominance or the person's position in a sport. This is followed by popping while participating or knee swelling, which are key symptoms of an injury.
